heard is built on trust. You share hard things here. We take that seriously.

We collect only what we need to make heard work. We never sell your data. We never share your conversations with advertisers. What you say here stays here.

Account information: Your email address when you sign up. That's it for identity.

Conversation data: Messages between you and the AI companion are stored so the AI can remember you across sessions (paid users). Free users' conversations are not stored between sessions.

Journal entries: Stored privately in our database. Only you can read them.

Community room messages: Visible to other room participants under your anonymous name. Not linked to your real identity.

Usage data: Basic metrics (messages sent per day) to enforce free tier limits.

We do not collect your real name unless you provide it. We do not track your location. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not use third-party analytics trackers on heard.

To run the app (auth, AI conversations, journal, rooms). To send you optional email updates if you opt in. To enforce free tier message limits. Never for advertising. Never sold to third parties.

Conversations with the heard AI companion are processed by Anthropic (Claude). Anthropic's privacy policy applies to the processing of those messages. We do not use your conversations to train AI models.

Paid users' conversation history is stored in our database to enable AI memory across sessions. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@heardapp.com.

Room messages are anonymous. Your display name in rooms is generated from your account ID using an algorithm — it cannot be traced back to your real identity by other users. heard moderates rooms for safety and crisis detection.

All data is stored with Supabase and protected by industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Access is restricted to your authenticated account. We use row-level security to ensure users can only access their own data.

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing hello@heardapp.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

heard is not intended for users under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately.
